Jesus. I came here to joke about him being charged a fee for early disembarkment, but this must have been genuinely traumatising. I hope the poor couple recover in good time, and I hope Ryanair pay a comfortable settlement.

You mean all of those people who say, “what’s a seatbelt gonna do if the plane crashes” didn’t actually give any thought to why else it might be important?

“In order to minimise any delay, a replacement aircraft was arranged to bring passengers to Memmingen, which departed Thessaloniki at 9.53am local time this morning.”

Lol I would hope so. But how big are the windows on that plane? The ones I’ve seen I’d never get my head through, forget my body

Window is ~12" x 9". Pressure differential between cabin at 8000 feet and exterior of 30000 feet is ~6.5psi. The total force is ~700 lbs.

So yeah, you wouldn’t be feeling very good. Imagine 5 people standing on just your chest.

He’s lucky that turbine blade didn’t hit him on its way into the plane. No way you could survive a hit like that.
