Carter would have set up timers on all their torpedoes, found a way to get them home with the caretaker’s station, and had the torpedoes beamed all over the station set to explode minutes after the ship got launched back.
Figures the ONE TIME Janeway respects the prime directive…
In her defense, an air force captain is not the same rank as a captain in the Navy, which the starfleet ranks are based on. She’d be like a lieutenant commander in starfleet. So I think she’d fit right in.
Gosh dang this show was ahead of it’s time. It was practical military and humanizing space before BSG. We weren’t ready for it.
Space: Above & Beyond would like a word
I love carter, but definitely not a good fit for starfleet. Too “us military” for peaceful exploration. Also too moral for Sec. 31.
Definitely daystrom institute, specializing in first hand field research.
Pff. If Carter had been in Voyager the Delta quadrant would have been a single episode.

Gotta make sure those torpedoes are are armed with C-4 warheads, though.
If they had access to photon torpedoes on the daedalus/prometheus/Apollo etc, they’d definitely use them.
C4 is a sidearm though, everyone needs a cargo pant pocket filled with it

She made full-bird colonel (O6) eventually, which is Captain in the Navy
Meh, she’s only a captain in the beginning. As far as I’m concerned, she’s Colonel Carter.
She made it to full colonel by the time of Atlantis, same rank as the full-time commanders of Earth’s biggest space carriers.
I had no idea. That’s interesting.
Daystrom Institute, first hand field research… That’s the best Star Trek pitch I’ve ever heard!
Best to file off the serial numbers and do it outside Paramount, though. They’re evil now.
She was NASA, and Air Force, which is the least US Military of the US Military.
She looks like a good fit for deep space radar telemetry.
Probably in need of a new toaster, as well…
There’s also that episode where Jack claims to be Kirk…
