Yeah but like, what’s the joke supposed to be? It is embarrassingly childish, but usually the name calling actually makes sense at least.

“Boot edge edge” is just nonsense. Like cool, you thought of similar sounding words.

        Like preschool level shit.

It’s what some McKinsey guy, who will sadly be president some day, thought (so profoundly prematurely and presumptuously) that we stupid rubes could use, and more importantly, would actually give a shit to use, suddenly, to talk about this McKinsey guy that we all love.

Because, you know, all we know are words like boot and edge. We have never even heard if IPA or a dictionary or anything more than one-syllable words.

You just know this douchebag workshopped the shit out of his own name’s ‘idiot-proof’ pronunciation for like, 400 hours per year of his like 70,000 hrs + overtime + over-overtime per year at McManageTheWorld Inc (And also totally ruin it, see the book When McKinsey Comes to Town)

        Yeah McKinsey is shit.

But wtf is this shit. Are you ok, dude? You think he workshopped his last name? And what he decided on was “Buttigieg”? What?

No, i was joking, poorly I admit, that he workshopped the pronunciation, so boot-edge-edge, not Buttigieg, was what was ‘workshopped’ and “what he decided on”, to answer your question…

because these are the world’s most cynical people at McKinsey, who workshop everything and make the whole world ‘plastic’ and fake and “optimized” and “streamlined” and so on.

It’s just, who does that? It reeks of a politician being “annointed” overnight rather than emerging on the stage naturally, where word of mouth would easily make it a non issue. If you have to tell everyone, again and again, how to pronounce your name, maybe you just don’t have the juice or whatever.

I don’t think, Idk, Kucinich, for example, went all over telling everyone constantly “it’s Coo-sin-itch!” It’s coo-sin-itch!”

Or Mike Krzyzewski, “hey my name is pronounced shi-zeff-ski! Shi-zeff-ski!”

Buttigieg is probably just used to like, showing up one day at supermarket chain HQs or whatever with his “deck” of slides, meeting people for the first time ever right before recommending cutting 40% of all jobs there, and listing all his Ivy League credentials and how to pronounce his name on the previous slide. Nobody knew how to pronounce his name because yes it’s unusual but also because he’s parachuted in and immediately automatically “matters”

Yes, I have a big problem with this guy. 😅
