Season 2 had way too many story lines for an 8 episode show. Everything felt rushed and underdeveloped. It is a shame because several of those storylines were intriguing.

With that said, I will be checking out season 3.

S2 was very underwhelming to me.

    I’m a longtime fallout fan and I’m indifferent to a S3

Season one was good because they took some risks and i don’t think people expected it. But if they continue to safe it its going to be just another show.

I know the Fallout show is really campy… but fuck, it always was really campy, way back to the beginning. That’s actually staying true to form with the camp and the old west themes.

Let’s just say it just scratches that itch well enough. We’re not talking award winning performances except for maybe Walton Goggins, whose character has seemingly been given the most background story (which tracks for a guy who’s been alive so long to have a… longer backstory) and the best material to work with, comparatively.

Anyway, both seasons are imperfect but a lot of fun if you can look past flaws. Looking forward to another campy romp in season 3… sad to see Dave Foley didn’t make the cast list, though. I need more Yes Man in my life god damn it.

The problem they’re running into is having too many plot threads open at once. Which is apparently has been a problem with the producer in the past.

I know the Fallout show is really campy… but fuck, it always was really campy, way back to the beginning.

Fallout 1 had some goofy bits but they were more like easter eggs than anything. Fallout 2 is when it embraced being campy in pulp 50/60s style but even then it was restrained to just that. Bethesda made it into a caricature of itself later with Fallout 3 and 4. New Vegas from Obsidian (who are ex-Black Isle guys, original creators of Fallout) tried to right the ship but the TV series also made a caricature out of it.

Fallout TV series is fine on its own but it definitely strays from what original games were like. I don’t mind people like new Fallout but why drag the original with it? Is it to appear cool because it implies you know the original? Someone disliking new Fallout games or TV series might never give FO1 a chance if they hear its like the new ones.

Ella Purnell getting to be in a show that is more than two seasons… yay!

No I have no interest in Fallout, just disappointed her other show wasn’t renewed for more.

Annabel O’Hagan and Dave Register have also been promoted to series regulars for Fallout Season 3.

I would have assumed they already were regulars, a fair bit of the plot has revolved around them.

I’m not saying Rings of Power was a financial failure, but a 2024 show is getting a 3rd season before 2022 one… (I don’t care about new LoTR. I got the books and the movies. Don’t need Rings of Power or those Gollum movies)

Amazon is trying to prove that Rings of Power isn’t losing money, but the fact they are greenlighting other shows faster than others implies that Fallout is making money, while Rings of Power isn’t.

Season three of ROP is scheduled to be released in November of this year.

Amazon paid 750 million dollars for the rights for ROP and part of that deal was a five season commitment. I doubt they were ever be any discussion on if the next season will be “greenlit” or not until after S5 is released.

If the show is successful or not for Amazon I have no idea nor do I really care. I quit watching that dogshit in episode 2 of season 2.

out of all the fan service they could have done…. having the courier in a dented NCR Ranger armor blow away an enemy with the gauss rifle or the ranger sequoia, or the 50 cal sniper, and then give a thumbs up before he teleports back to the sync in big mountain with the mysterious stranger music playing would have had people going nuts…. but sure, let’s pretend the courier after getting dug out of his grave just crawled back in the ground, and had no effect on the story of vegas. it’s like they have to choose one thing per region to shit on. can’t wait to find out the east coast brotherhood of steel turned into genocidists and poisoned the drinking water to kill all mutants but now kills everyone! can’t wait

no, he didn’t. the ONLY indication that the courier was ever involved is that house states that sometimes he trick people into fake killing him. no other indication of possible involvement is shown, the fact that the assaultrons are not upgraded means the platinum chip was never in play. that and victor is still kicking around. it would have made more sense if there was evidence that the curior decided to go to ulysses and decided to nuke both the NCR AND the legion, due to their basically non existence.

the show seems more interested in telling its own story but leaning on the trappings of established games, and not really respecting their contributions. which seems to be a common theme, nuking shady sands has the flimsiest reasoning and is antithetical to the story they ape from but they didn’t want a fortified idealic settlement to get in the way of the aesthetic. again if they wanted to do that, blaming the courier would have made the most sense, but then you couldn’t blame Lucy’s father. it was all very lazy

nuking shady sands is what would have happened in van buren, and something a fallout new vegas dev continually pushed for. and with courier its damned if you do damned if you dont. there will never be any winning with showing the courier or talking about the courier

make the courier the good guy make the courier the bad guy. but don’t pretend he was never there!

even better! have them established as a bogey man. none knows what they are responsible for and so they get blamed for EVERYTHING both good and bad. have them still do the mysterious stranger cameo. make it annoying coy about the characters gender. have him at war with Mr. House as to why they are Lucy’s mysterious stranger, which plays into her ridiculously high plot armor/luck stat!

HOW COULD A FACILITY ABOUT LOBOTOMIZING PEOPLE NOT BE BIG MOUNTAIN! CHRIST!
