You wouldn’t think of a European community of being so insanely pro Russia, yet on every single post mentioning Russia, any negative comments about Russia or their government will get downvoted to hell, some people get banned. I would not be surprised if I am banned or downvoted for posting this. People who are not just blatantly spamming Kremlin propaganda, please say why you are so pro Russia, to someone confused.

Ukraine isn’t being “Thanos snapped out of existence,” at least not by Russia. Russia wants to annex the 4 oblasts that are already pro-Russia, the ones Kiev was committing war crimes and ethnic cleansing against. After the war, which should have ended had the west not interfered and propped it up for profit, Ukraine will face a demographic crisis but will still exist. In an ideal world, the Banderite coup in 2014 never would have happened, but the current phase of the decade-long war is a direct result of that coup.
The worst-case scenario for the world is a Russian loss, where the west gets to Balkanize Russia and dominate it financially like they did in the 90s. This would give western capital a fresh lease on life, extending the brutality of imperialism for longer. I cannot overstate just how bad the present brutality of imperialism and neocolonialism are. Further, this also sacrifices those in Donetsk and Luhansk to the Banderites in Kiev, who want them dead.

No, imperialism and neocolonialism far eclipse the conflict in Ukraine right now. The global south has been systematically underdeveloped, murdered, starved, bombed, and genocides for centuries. By minimizing it to the level of the Russo-Ukrainain war, you are trivializing the single greatest source of misery around the world, including what started the Russo-Ukrainian war in the first place!
I don’t even know what you’re saying in regards to “paying in exchange for a shot at a better world.” What price are we paying? How do we get to a better world without overcoming imperialism and neocolonialism? The west started the Russo-Ukrainian war in 2014 in order to encircle Russia and try to Balkanize it. More war will continue to happen if we do not stop the single greatest source. Kiev should sue for peace, and let go of the Donbass region that they have been shelling for over a decade.

The Russian Federation is not imperialist. Tsarist Russia was overthrown, and the soviets liberated the former Tsarist economies. The Soviets then built a highly industrialized economy devoid of finance capital, and the Russian Federation inherited this industrial superpower. Finance capital never had a chance to actually grow in the Russian Federation, and their attempts to join NATO and the west in imperializing the global south were denied. As such, Russia is a nationalist, capitalist state in the modern day, and is not imperialist.
In the conflict between a nationalist state and imperialism, the nationalists are progressive. The same applies to Iran in fighting NATO and Israel, of Algeria against France, etc. I’m also not talking about past colonalism, but present imperialism and neocolonialism.
As for the west supporting the Banderites in 2014, this is well known. Russia presses this fact because it’s important, the fact that they press it does not make it wrong. In supporting the Banderites, the west started the Ukrainian civil war, which spiraled into the current stage with the failure of the Minsk agreements. Calling an uncomfortable truth “BS” does not make it so. It matters to this conversation because ending imperialism earlier would have prevented this war, and without ending it there will be more and more wars.

What specifically do you think is wrong about what I said? Do you disagree with my analysis of the facts at hand, or the facts themselves?
