A billionaire tech investor accused of assaulting his former partner and stealing expensive gifts he had bought her has his bail varied so he can visit his mother in Sydney.

I’m already annoyed that money is buying special treatment.

If police came to my house after a family violence incident, found stolen property in my bedroom as well as drugs, I can’t see any way I’d be awaiting trial outside a cell. On top of that, this guy is allowed to leave the state to go visit his mum.

It’s a big club and we’re not in it.

    Money always buys special treatment. The entire concept of fines for resolving penalty units is special treatment for the rich, the state allows you to just buy your way out of penalty.
