I recall seeing an article talking about how baby formula companies offered free formula to deeply impoverished new mothers in some African countries. After the mothers went long enough without breastfeeding, they’d stop producing, making them dependent on buying more formula.

Puppies aren’t allowed to be separated from their mother for at least 6 weeks. Dogs have more parental leave than humans

yea, obviously if you’re at home breast-feeding, then you’re not buying as much formula for whomever is tending the baby while you’re at work.

i always thought it was funny how people will feed their baby some synthetic formula, but as the kid grows up then they insist on cow’s milk instead of some alternative

Formula instead of breast milk due to advertising from formula manufacturers.

Cows milk because of advertising for US department of agriculture on behalf of dairy farmers.

The milk doesn’t just appear out of thin air. Lactating moms need to eat a lot more to produce it. Someone out there is profiting from that extra food.
