Just found this post on Mastodon and thought it’s something for Y’all: https://mastodon.social/@danyork/116511753802210926
These, however, are apparently totally acceptable

Faraday cages all around
I wonder how these bans will hold up once people start having them as their only source of corrective lenses, or if they rely on an integrated accessibility service.
I think this needs to be solved at the legislative level, devices used to aid in a disability can’t simultaneously be invading the privacy of everyone around
I smell a loophole.
Or maybe Karen’s “therapy” pitbull just shit in the store again.
Could be both.
I mean if I had a wheelchair with a camera attached so it, I expect people might not let me in certain places, and that’s kind of on me for buying that wheelchair
and that’s kind of on me for buying that wheelchair
Part of the issue is that there may be a critical mass having them. Core issue of our comm is that we care, but the market is apathetic.
Yeah, I’m getting a gopro attached to my hybrid etrike/scooter/wheelchair dealie when I can afford it. I can’t afford it if I can’t afford a very visible lens cover (a little C of plastic costs how much?).
Could be treated similarly to how disabled parking is–you are required to also have a card from the DMV/DOL/whatever your state calls it on you when using a disabled parking spot. You need to be able to display this if asked by the police/parking enforcement, not that it ever really comes up.
Give out a card like that or like a medical marijuana card for people who use them as assistive devices.
Require a physical off switch as part of the design.
If they start to cry ableist just like they do protect the children we’re fucked.
