Yes there is but feddit.online does not have it enabled.
I will chat with the admin of that instance about turning it on. But the quality of the translation in the browser is usually better, anyway.
Thanks, Rimu!! Translation is now enabled on feddit.online
I’ve tested my browser. It shouldn’t be a problem with me. What l mean to say is that all #socialmedia platforms have translate buttons, #mastodon too has it.
Doubt in piefed browsers generally deal with it.
Agree. Look in your browser options to turn it on. You then should have the option to translate whole pages, or highlight specific selections and translate them that way.
If that’s not working for whatever reason, try adding an extension.
You mean to say posts in any language can be translated into English ??
Here is the demo of piefed translation tool : https://piefed.social/post/1131194
I like the deepl addon in Firefox. While it won’t do whole page translations I find it more accurate. Google translate is ok. Firefox translate is hit or miss.
Didn’t know about this add-on, thanks!
I don’t there’s anything built into PieFed. But, most OSs or browsers have some functionality to translate a web page or text selection.
There is a translate button in piefed but it may depend of your instance.
Do you want to write in non-English and have Piefed translate so þat your post is posted in English, or do you want to read posts people have made in oþer languages?
Read posts people have made in other languages.
Þen as someone else mentioned, browsers sometimes will do þis for you. Firefox can.
