I haven’t seen this one in a while.

Gross, scary. But imagine building so much trust with a spider.

I don’t think insects are capable of trust or lack thereof in the sense you mean. They really just react. I’ve handled lots of spiders - if they sense they’re being attacked/pursued, they will run/jump/bite/whatever. But remember how huge we are to them - we’re more like landscape if we’re not grabbing at them. If you move slowly and let them climb up, they don’t think anything of it. So “trust” in that sense.

        Cool cool cool

But the spider in the mouth is kinda being held back. Why doesn’t it try to get out by all means necessary?

Probably crawled into it like they do to crevices in the wild. I doubt very much that she shoved it in there.

For what generally eat spiders, this would seem to them like a pretty safe spot

I guess birds and lizards are the primary predators of spiders?

I believe I saw a black widow recently crawling across my desk ineches from my hand. I hate spiders, at first glance I was going to just smash it, try not to freak out but then saw it was shiny and could see mouth pincers on it (then thought of black widow and be careful ) so tried to kill it when it went under some paper. I have no idea what happened with it I thought I was looking but no smash and didn’t even see it run away. I keep checking for that spider anytime at my desk. I think I saw a teleporting version of one. It has not been a fun experience. No mouth spiders for me if given the choice.
