Well, it depends… sometimes it IS sexual assault, without being rape.
The point is to call rape what it is, and not some softened passivized version to downplay the severity of rape.
We know there’s a distinction, and nobody is denying that.
Missed opportunity to call it “Rape Awareness Month” in the title.
Rape is a subset of sexual assault. Calling it that only excludes victims of things like groping.
then I agree people should say sexual assault instead of SA when it won’t get the post censored. I do feel like it is important to spread the word about something first, even if a euphemism needed to reach more people might soften the message.
Thanks, that’s not always inclusive of the LGBT+ community and it’s not inclusive of other sexual assaults
Hard agree, but the algorithm might suppress it on sites like youtube. I don’t like that people made a habit of it in other places though.
