From Bat World Sanctuary:
Aquarius, one of our resident Variable flying foxes, is enjoying her spa soak
Born in 2005, she’s about 21 years old—well into her senior years for a fruit bat.
In the wild, flying foxes typically live around 15-20 years. In captivity, with proper nutrition, enrichment, and medical support, they can sometimes live into their mid-to-late 20s and even early 30s. Every extra comfortable year truly matters for elders like Aquarius.
Her warm Epsom salt baths help soothe achy joints, and she’s already looking a bit more relaxed.
