Not everything can be posted on lemmy/piefed, like rants and small quick questions. Here are some vegan safe spaces you can join.
Matrix Vegan Space - https://matrix.to/#/#vegan:pub.solar
This space has over 100 members and is very active in discussions. This place has a lot of rooms, like general chat, nutrition, politics, games, fashion, debate, etc. After joining the vegan space, join the rooms you like.
Signal Group link - https://signal.group/#CjQKIEL2AAqK0gGc3Q3MKdzY3yJzuzTg49ZOKuyMKHHkci6yEhAch3wYN2U7VZPuToAxsYlA
This is just a small group with only around 30 members. Talk or rant about anything you like. Small debates are allowed but not encourgared. Non-vegans are welcome, if they are curious or want any help, as long as they maintain the decorum.
Thanks to the mod (@wolfyvegan@slrpnk.net), who allowed me to post this.
I’ve heard of there being a “telegram” chat thing for the vegan communities in Ecuador, and I wonder if that could be moved to the Matrix space somehow. I’m not so familiar with how Matrix works, but if the vegan space could allow private or invite-only rooms, then it should work, right? I don’t have any contact with the people using the telegram chat, but if anyone else does, maybe suggest that they make the switch?
Matrix is just like fediverse, multiple servers connected to each other. Just make an account on one server, and you can join the any Matrix space. I’m not very active there but I’m sure you can talk to the admins if they’re willing to create a new channel, and mark it as invitation only room.
Also, I’m sceptical if Telegram users would want to switch to Matrix.
Thanks for this response. I’m not involved with the telegram chat and have no contact with the people there; I heard about it from someone else online, and then I thought of your post and had this idea. Even if I were to get the Matrix equivalent up and running, someone else would need to contact the people on telegram to let them know about it.
