I’ve heard of there being a “telegram” chat thing for the vegan communities in Ecuador, and I wonder if that could be moved to the Matrix space somehow. I’m not so familiar with how Matrix works, but if the vegan space could allow private or invite-only rooms, then it should work, right? I don’t have any contact with the people using the telegram chat, but if anyone else does, maybe suggest that they make the switch?
I obviously do not support or condone the activities of the “poor, local artisan fishermen” mentioned in this documentary, nor do I support or condone the activities of governments, police, military, or “environmentalist” organisations claiming to protect the ocean.
Prevention. The fewer people coming through the hospital, the less waste generated.
If someone comes in with a problem that can be solved permanently (e.g. type 2 diabetes), solve it the first time so that they won’t be back.
EDIT: Anyone on the hospital staff, nurse or receptionist or janitor, can share information that could help someone to avoid repeat hospital visits. Just give a disclaimer like “I’m not a doctor, so don’t take this as medical advice, but…” and then tell the patient with diabetes or atherosclerosis about the benefits of a low-fat plant-based diet (and maybe give them a simple link like pcrm.org), or direct the biker with the fractured skull to a source of quality motorcycle helmets, or provide the addict who overdosed with the contact information of a local support group… We never really know how big a difference our actions can make.

2·19 days agoYields begin to decline at temperatures above 30C for most agricultural crops, with damage including weakened cell walls and the production of toxins. The yields of maize in some areas have declined by about 10%. Wheat has fallen by nearly as much, and is projected to decline further as temperatures rise to more than 1.5C above preindustrial levels.
development of a more diverse food system, better equipped to withstand shocks, and a reversal of trends in intensive agriculture that have robbed farms of trees, shade and mixtures of crops
With each new article like this that gets published, it’s ever more obvious that biodiverse food forests are the solution.

Thanks for this response. I’m not involved with the telegram chat and have no contact with the people there; I heard about it from someone else online, and then I thought of your post and had this idea. Even if I were to get the Matrix equivalent up and running, someone else would need to contact the people on telegram to let them know about it.
