It has recently been brought to my attention that the lead admin of programming.dev is engaging in ongoing transphobia.

For that reason we will be defederating from programming.dev in 48 hours.

There are only three communities on that instance used by small number of our users, so this won’t have a big impact, but if you are one of those users, you will need to use an alt account on another instance if you wish to access the communities.

    Be aware that’s a CP from the blahaj zone.

    Who decide wich one is drama/pouting or if this is logical/moral ? Not you, not me.

    I’m one of those who is thinking that free software are political first, in our society, free software its like the true def of anarchy.

    And even not,
    Blahaj do have a main purpose, so that’s just a logical announce.
    After knowing that, maybe others would want to boycott them too or just be aware if that fact ?

    Words =/= acts. They can have rule, their admin is a junk, and broke them too I guess.

    Naming something “Drama” is often just a call to negate a topic. Because uninterested in, or hostile to it, that I don’t know.

    This is a transgender C, so for them its not an drama I hope, but an information.
    As transgender I want to be aware of that, and would not use or create an account on this lemmy’s instance.

    Now, personally, I will just block the admins of this instance, not the C.

      Defederating because of drama on a completely unrelated instance just harms all users. It’s a petty power move.

        Blahaj do have a main goal. Go read it.
        And personally I have my own opinion on the defed. Take account of the input and u can understand this announcement.

                    My bad, you’re not the one my comment was refering to. Anyways, you coming to defend the behavior I’m describing is not better in my book. This looks like raiding in a trans sub with passive-agressive attitude. Don’t call other “aggressive” or “looking for drama” if you don’t take into account how the argument started (like calling trans issues “pouting”) and where you are… Especially if you’re not concerned by trans issues.
