        It’s set in 932, so solidly in the Middle Ages, but there’s definitely more anachronisms than anarchism in the movie

          Oh I meant the Diggers as in the 17th century socialist movement during the british interregium. And it looks like the middle ages ended with the 15th century so no, not medieval

            Socialism just seems to develop naturally so often throughout human history, until it gets violently repressed by an authoritarian minority
