FYI: What the troll is describing is not required all. I don’t know what they’re on about, but I’ve used ldap-js in many projects without having to do any of that.
You’re right, I should be more specific when leaving a comment like that! I specifically empathize with being frustrated with the design for an API that I am using to the point of loosing my civility. The code the troll cites is certainly kinda icky; I’m equal parts relieved and disheartened for the library’s former maintainer that they aren’t designing an API like that yet they still got harassed like that.
I’ve never let that sentiment spread behind the physical room I was working in, so it’s definitely harder for me to empathize with actually sending that email. but god damn do I empathize with composing that email!
