This has been my solution stubbornly ignore the fact its dark and just do yard work and outside stuff with a headlamp on.

Just gotta get out of the shitty shoulder season where there isn’t enough snow to ski or anowshoe but there’s too much “snow” (really gray ice) do much else.

This shit is the shit. Keep your long ass days and 115+ degree heat indices far away from me. I already did that shit all summer. It’s comfy time now. comfy-cool

I’m so jealous, fucking love when it gets dark early unironically. Hate how long the sun stays out in the fucking summer, doesn’t even feel like night for way too long. Don’t get nights that early as far south as I am

And that’s not even mentioning getting up for class and it’s still fucking dark fuck I love that. Makes it actually feel like winter. There’s nothing better than a cold dark foggy morning and I will genuinely die on that hill

Its less fun when you still have to go outside and do stuff in it instead of it just being thematic window dressing.

You already said you’re far south enough it doesn’t get dark at 4pm, so I’m guessing you’re also far south enough that your winter is my brisk fall day.

Coldest it gets is prolly -4°c if I’m lucky that year so I get what you’re saying. I don’t experience winter like you might and I haven’t lived it but I do want to. I plan to move north once I have the funds

Idk it just gives me dopamine. Winter was almost my favorite time of year as a kid because I got more time alone to read I think. Cold weather makes me feel really cozy and gray skies make me nostalgic. I like when it rains and the ground stays wet for days. I like when I step outside and immediately get goosebumps. I like when the bitter wind stings my face and I get to run inside to a warm coffee with the sniffles.

Maybe it’s because summer was always miserable. It’s often above 38° in the summer but it will even stay that way till October sometimes and that’s gotten worse as time goes on. Seems like summer lasts longer and longer so I treasure winter when I get it

I fucking love winter and the night, it being dark at 4PM is fucking great. Very moody and perfect for a cuppa tea inside or outside. But maybe that is because I do see the winter sunlight a lot as my home and college are well lit with windows. Also the snow really compensates for less sunlight and brightens up my room really damn well.

Oh and don’t get me started on winter walks. Oh. My. God. DO I FUCKING LOVE GOING FOR A WALK DURING WINTER. Holy shit, the clean air, the untouched snow of the forest, the breeze of a cold wind. Everything, fucking everything is amazing. Except maybe driving, but winter biking is great you can’t change my mind.

Also. DEATH TO EVERY FUCKING MOSQUITO EVER HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
