    In my city we rely on geckos, I think they eat the spiders though.

    Watching geckos hunt is a real spectator sport - they even catch and eat cockroaches, which over here are almost the same size as the geckos!

      It really depends on the spider and the size of the gecko. Grown geckos will eat most spiders, but I’ve seen plenty of smaller ones fall prey to orb-weavers and other rather small web-builders. Also huntsman spiders are notorious for hunting geckos (including fully grown ones).

        I guess baby geckos are food for a lot of critters but we don’t have the bigger spiders here in Durban (South Africa). And the geckos here are half a foot long. I would be pretty scared of a spider that can tangle with that. Boss fight!

    Nice poetic way to put it :)

    I was just thanking a spider earlier today for taking care of a fly. I had chased the thing all around the house and finally got it to fly into a spider web and spidey took care of the rest. Spiders are homies.

    Great picture as well, really shows off the beauty of the spider
