Let’s go for 5 and 10 at least!
I’ll be hosting another once I figure out the problem im having with VirtualBox
Why torture yourself with Virtualbox? Just host with docker.
Turns our setting up Docker on Mint Cinnamon is also a pain 😅 should I just switch to vanilla Ubuntu? I loaded Mint on because a) I already had a flash drive with it and b) it worked, but I’m not married to it. This thing’s really going to be a server for 99% of stuff it does. Any suggestions?
If it’s just going to be a server, you can’t got wrong with vanilla Debian. But why is it difficult to setup docker on mint I don’t get it
Boom done. Debian and Docker installed :)
I know right? It can’t seem to find some of the packages it needs, I think docker.cli.ce or something like that. I followed the steps on the site exactly inclueint adding the repos, and then followed the revised steps I found with the correct terminal commands, and still no dice.
Idk, I ran out of time before work, I’ll come back to it tonight maybe.
I even cleared all the Docker files - twice - and tried doing it through the Software Manager GUI. No luck.
I’m real new to self-hosting tbh. I guess I got it into my head that running Yunohost in a VM would be a) manageable for me in terms of difficulty and b) reasonably secure, but maybe you’re right.
I have fixed one of the two errors I was getting, I’ve just not had the time to go back and work at the other one yet.
