This reminds me of German socialists and communists thinking “after Hitler, our turn”

This is exactly it. They’re technically correct about Trump being a better option to end the American hegemony, but they’re overlooking the fact that there might not be an America, much less an American working class after the fact.

Also, going after the middle class is a weird take. They’re part of the working class. I balk a little bit when people call something “bougie” for being upper middle class. No, dumbass, boba tea for $10 isn’t an ownership class thing. That’s just the thing they’re selling to working people who think it makes them look more successful. This ridiculous blue collar vs white collar culture war is part of the problem.

Admittedly, so do I, but it’s no way to live. Sometimes, we have to do stuff to achieve stuff. Based on your comment, I’m probably preaching to the choir, but I felt like saying it anyway.

While insisting theirs is the pragmatic materialist view, devoid of idealistic purity tests.

            It’s called dark comedy.
