Also, Moses sure does look white in that picture, doesn’t he?
This is the actual painting of King Mansa Musa of Mali. The source is the Wikipedia article on him. Notice the dark skin.
Either this guy photo edited the thing they posted and are lying, or someone else is and this guy fell for it.
Maybe. But I also wouldn’t be shocked if some European painters knew black people existed and some didn’t. And the ones that didn’t just painted him looking like everyone else around them.
Black people were afaik more commonly seen in Europe than one might think.
Still, it wouldn’t surprise me if they assumed that other kings must also be white, or that they assumed the racial makeup of this faraway realms was similar to their own.
There can be more than one painting of a monarch. The details of the two pictures differ a lot. What makes you thing they are the same picture?
“wow, that guy’s rich”
-Egypt
-Established by Caucasian
-Show a picture of pharaoh with tanned skin.
You got one, ONE job.
You’d think in this day and age, Americans would have learned the definition of Caucasian.
It’s extra funny when those 'muricans wouldn’t even consider geographical caucasians (people from current day Armenia, Azerbaijan) as “truly white”
Clearly Seti has an orange sweater, don’t be fooled!
Lmao he indeed looks like he’s wearing orange sweater!
Could be a joke about the black people who claim all great leaders and whatnot were secretly black. But also, some people are just loonies
Well, lighter skin tones were often a trait of beauty, and I think it is also easier to paint. BTW that pharaoh doesn’t look quite white either.
