I don’t expect this to play particularly well here, and maybe I’m just being conspiratorial, but here goes:

I banned jordanlund@lemmy.world from !transgender@lemmy.blahajzone earlier today- he literally posted a matt walsh youtube link and was being otherwise transphobic in a space where that gets you banned. (link)

one of jordanlunds removed comments w/ matt walsh video:

spoiler

the reason I put down was ‘trolling about neopronouns’ I stand by that, it was violating instance rules and was unacceptable behavior from a moderator of another instance.

Shortly after that I got banned from news@lemmy.world for ‘trolling’. To be clear, jordanlund does not moderate news@lemmy.world, but the timing struck me as an odd coincidence.

The .world thread in question (link)

I was expressing my actual opinion/position on this, if anything the post I was replying to should be considered a rule 1 violation implying leftists are russian/under russian sway:

spoiler

The removed comments that I was banned (permanent) for were just me being earnest about my position, which you’re welcome to disagree with.

I don’t view protecting my rights as something worth sacrificing other people for, even if they’re on the other side of the planet. You can be mad at me or hate me for that, but I’m not trolling.

People replying felt it was reasonable to call me an idiot for example, yet another example of selective moderation. on .world.

I don’t have any conclusive proof that my banning Jordanlund and then getting banned are related other than the suspicious timing, I welcome clarification.

Anyway in the interest of neutrality and transparency I submit both my ban and jordanlunds for review.

He was calling the dragon troll out for what they’re doing and rightly comparing him to bigot because he’s using others’ pain to troll.

He was saying that nonstandard pronouns ‘aren’t real’ and that using them was denigrating people with ‘legitimate use’ for alternate pronouns. He was not comparing drag to the bigot, he linked a video of a bigot mocking a trans person using nonstandard pronouns, and said:

Every time I see you posting your imaginary bullshit I just remember this

That sounds like he agrees with Matt Walsh’s view of non-standard pronouns.

        You claim to be trans,

        I am trans.

why are you so open to people who seem to not have respect for actual pronoun-related issues?

        I’m not, I banned Jordan.

When some troll co opts the concept of choosing a pronoun and claims theirs is dragon, they’re clearly making a mockery of the whole concept even if accidentally.

Do you have the same issue with people using fae/faer? I already linked you reading material on this either way. If drag is a troll I’d rather be trolled than allow for an environment where people feel comfortable rolling up and posting matt walsh videos to mock other users.

I don’t know why you are bringing up Universalmonk to me to explain your varying grudges, he has nothing to do with this either thread in this post.

if you tried, it would have to go something like this “see he said drag is full of shit and then pointed to awful behavior as analogous to them”

The video he linked was of matt walsh mocking someone using demon pronouns. Are you saying that the person using demon pronouns had awful behavior, or that matt walsh did?

The reason I ask is because jordan said “Every time I see you posting your imaginary bullshit I just remember this: [video of someone using demon pronouns]”

If he has such a problem with ‘non-real’ pronouns then it’s pretty much a straight line to conclude that he agrees with Matt Walsh in the video he linked.
