To me, the timing seems as good as it could be: massive political instability in Israel, west distracted in Ukraine, Iran seems ready to support, and the Saudi-Israeli normalization talks were happening this week and making progress. This offensive and whatever retaliation Israel attempts could derail that entire agreement.

Bibi is probably going to pass his reforms now. I do think if the situation gets too bad the US is going to send aid to Israel like they always do.
Hezbollah already said they will attack if Israel invades Gaza.
