Fellow brits will understand.
We have a basic Roomba and that’s been our game changer.
To run it well you have to do a once over, pick up socks and the like. Then when it’s done it just feels a little natural to go around and tidy up a little.
This also involves picking up dishes, so my next break would be washing dishes. Then dinner prep.
All my work breaks are active, getting the house ready. The wife comes home to a decently clean house and dinner, and I was on the clock when I did it all.

I know what you’re saying but I’m chuckling at the thought of you needing to pick dirty dishes up off the floor to run your vacuum robot
Do you normally just vacuum around the dirty dishes on the floor?
My current house has a central vacuum system and I don’t think I can use anything else now.
It’s a vacuum cleaner with a big goofy face on the front right? It works really well?
That’s the one! And yeah, it really sucks!

I’m baffled by the constant good reviews I read about Henry vacuum cleaners. Either they’re doing really well in convincing people that the product’s good just because they expected it to be good, or you’re all upgrading from really terrible hoovers.
Henry can’t navigate a corner despite being round, it has so-so suction power, and it has nowhere to stash attachments (or at least, the last one I used didn’t).
It does have a big smiley face on the front, though. Maybe that’s the ticket.
Are you kidding me?! It sucks so hard!
There are recepticals on the back to hold the attachments.
Maybe they’ve improved!
