“A plan was made to cover up the incident,” Police Chief Murphy Paul said.

Which is a scandal. In the truest meaning of the word. The rainbow press may have diluted the meaning, but still

Might I suggest you open up a dictionary and look up the words connotation and denotation. And while you’re at it, how about reading up on how the media uses passive language to cover up for the police all the damn time

There is no “but still”. Here’s the thing about language - it is constantly changing. Words change their meanings all the time. I cannot go to the 18th century and use modern vernacular and not be misunderstood, nor could I go to the 22nd century and use it and not be misunderstood. Quit acting like English is some static thing that hasn’t changed. You’re showing exactly how ignorant and uneducated you really are, even without having to use such an ignorant term as “rainbow press”.

Wow. Really nice. Thing is, English is not my native language and I therefore am
        A) influenced by my native language when it comes to the more nuanced meanings of words
        B) speak without the set of ideas in mind you seem to have attributed me with because I literally do not belong into your political system
        C) made a translation error with the term “rainbow press” for tabloids because
        D) English is not my native language
        E) have not made any political statement or anything to be opposed that strongly

But yeah, calling a foreigner “uneducated” for being not on the same page as you regarding the evolution of words in your language is a really educated move, good Sir. I, the lowly foreign peasant bow before your superior education, good Sir. I am so sorry, good Sir…

If the press diluted the meaning, then they need to use a different word.

Brave Cave horror or terror, perhaps. Monstrosity. Abomination.

Scandal is such a weak word. Might as well call it the Brave Cave no-no.
