Just wondering for those who have seen it, what your thoughts are about the recent documentary Will & Harper.

It was nice to see an affirming and positive piece of media from a big name actor. It didn’t go as deep as I was hoping, but that’s OK. The point isn’t to explain everything, it’s too normalise

seems like a healthy perspective on the film 😄

The trans representation was worse than I expected, so it felt a bit like yet another Caitlyn Jenner moment to me. Maybe I fear cis liberals around me will use this film to feel good about themselves and the film will give a false sense of understanding trans people. That said, it’s clearly better than transphobic media (I mean, Matt Walsh’s films are literally in theaters right now where I am), so I guess we should be happy about it?

Yeah, it wasn’t much use in helping cis folk understand us. But it will help them normalise us, which tbh, I think is more important

that’s definitely an aspect of the film I didn’t consider - perhaps I should see it as more redeeming than I originally felt after watching it, lol
