This week in KDE brings new #Plasma6 features, like changes to the sound theme and when sounds are played, you can now change your active power profile, and log in easier to captive portal pages (like those found at hotels and airports).

Good stuff. Plasma 6 is gonna be a good one.
@kde@floss.social @kde@lemmy.kde.social I cant’t believe plasma 5 is almost a decade old :ablobspin:
New sound theme sounds nice. It seems a bit dull however, in the sense that all sounds are very close to each other, but maybe its a wanted feature in a desktop sound theme, what do I know?
I don’t mind it much but see what you mean. I just think the name of the theme Blue Ocean explains a bit why they’re this way. Almost like you’re underwater.
Yeah, I guess the best is to test the sounds in context, see how it goes. What I like very much is that the sounds, especially even the error sounds are kinda soothing, while Plasma"s current error sound is a bit too aggressive to my hears.
Yep. Actually using them in everyday life will be the answer. Playing the sounds one time individually can’t really say whether I’ll like it or want to disable it right away.
Kind of reminds me of Windows Vista / Windows 7 sounds
@kde @kde@lemmy.kde.social I’d love to see an option on the network options to use the Tor network to connect to a WiFI

I think KDE needs to show a pop-up to select
- Headphones
- Headset ( with Mic )
- MicrophoneWhen the user plugs something in the Audio ports like how GNOME does. Oftentimes I have poor audio quality simply because I forgot to select the sources.
