I was raised under the constant expectation of excellence, anything short was considered a failure.
Now that I set my own standards for myself, I’m trying to keep as much of the upsides of that approach (high discipline, hard work, the ability for self-criticism and improvement) while doing away with as much of the bad (perfectionism, stress about performance, unreachable standards)
