  • Tech worker here. I am this 🤏 fucking close to dragging every god damn thing designed to pass an electron out to the driveway and fucking hack it to bits with an axe (that I use for hewing and preparing lumber, so I can live in the wilderness when technology wins).

Haha, “hack to bits” haha. No pun intended.

  • I have met some Russians in my community (MA) and they have all mentioned that they are scared of the censorship their relatives are now facing in russia. I remember hearing one of their nephews got a visit from the local police department for their social media activity.

This was at a local repair cafe, and I was sharpening tools. Got to see some cool old Soviet shears, scissors and knives.

  • One method is gamifying to-do lists.

Make a bunch of to-do’s and add an incentive when you finish the list. Getting a treat, or a product or just a slack day to rest or free time.

First you need to deprive yourself of “luxuries” because if you have them before and after the task, there’s no incentive to complete it. Avoid junk food, mindlessly playing games or watching TV.

Slowly reintroduce them in moderation as you complete tasks. Give your X hours or game time, X treats, etc.

There isn’t a click sound or auditory feedback, but the fundamentals of an incentive remain for good behavior l.
