Much better ideas for series have been suggested by those that enjoy Star Trek, and they have been ignored.
Star Date Beverly Hills 90210 wasn’t what we asked for.
Even when a series has good characters and interesting ideas, it still needs compelling plots and competent script writing.
Personally I’ve watched every episode of every other Star Trek Series, even the weaker ones. I’ve given up on Academy. I’m just really not interested 😕🖖
That speaks as much to your excellent choices in hero’s as to the hero’s themselves 🙂👍

That’s not really they way to experience Star Trek.
Unless they are already into SciFi or Morality Tales picking one episode won’t work as an introduction.

We really need the follow Captain Seven series. Episodic in a similar way to Strange New Worlds with the option for longer story arcs where needed 🙂🤷♂️
Unless this new movie is frankly outstanding it won’t beat First Contact.

They are interconnected in much the same way that the Japanese invasion of Manchuria 1931 and the Spanish Civil War of 1936 and expansion of Japanese conquests into China in 1937 are preludes to the outbreak of WWII in 1939.
Incidentally the Second American Civil War is set to start in 2026 and Irish Reunification in 2024.

No hate from me, but DS9 did take a few seasons to get going. It wasn’t our father’s Trek but was an important series for how Trek developed.
Picard was flipping amazing and probably the best new Trek for ages. SNW is also very good 🙂🖖
