I’m new to the community and don’t know whether it’s reasonable to ask this or not, so here goes: what is the affordable titanium GMT and what is the typical microbrand watch formula? In other words, is it acceptable for a community member like me or anyone else to ask for an excerpt to be included in the post directly, so that I wouldn’t need to click the link? Genuine question, not trying to be passive aggressive or anything, apologies if it came out this way
Both I and my neighbor are still quite disgruntled by the Omega × Swatch solar mission series. The watches come out okay on photos, but are incredible prone to scratches and the case material chipping away in small bits. Granted, both of us rode them heavy. The movement on mine broke after 13 months, my neighbor’s is still going fine, but the crystal is absolutely trashed, at this point it’s an ongoing experiment to see how long the watch will last and what will be the part that irrecoverably breaks first. AP × Swatch seems like a good experimental subject for someone who hasn’t seen the Omega × Swatch collab in action. Collectible value of those, I’m pretty sure, is lower than of a generic Tissot within the same price range.
I’ve been wearing a Seamaster Good Planet since mid-2016 nearly daily. My primary work is typing things on a laptop. But my leisure life puts me in various situations and settings. I’m fairly “wide”, and a lot of entrances, doorways, hallways, and rooms are narrow for me, so I hit things, including with my watch. In 10 years I’ve managed to give the sapphire crystal some scratches, but really negligible; doesn’t look new, but absolutely far from scratched, I bet it looked this way after a month of me wearing the watch already. In comparison, the case is freakin’ destroyed: scratches, several of the bezel “teeth” bent, the metal bracelet is scratched nearly everywhere. So yeah, I believe that if the crystal is visibly scratched, and the case doesn’t have “Omega × Swatch” on it, it’s very likely fake, big time.
Off-topic: I really love the filesystem version though. This way I can work with the files directly, read and query them as text, when I I don’t need to parse and traverse the structure. And it is actually fast enough still after a few years and a few thousand files
Kinda the same. Over the past couple years, I’ve tweaked a lot my approach, now I rely heavily on properties instead of nesting, ditched the tags completely, wrote a few queries that are really really useful, and ended up maintaining actively several pages instead of relying solely on journals, and now it matches how my own memory works. What are your tricks?

I’m dreaming of an Oak and Oscar. Such a nice-looking watches and in general a lovely brand. Not very pricey for the build quality and just good feels, but still a significant amount, so I’m hesitating
It is somewhat achievable now with page properties and bases in Obsidian. But yes, different paradigm. Makes me look up the file and folder structure way more often than LogSeq, in which I do, in fact, maintain some folder hierarchy of notes, but it’s primarily for other needs

Came across this post and started researching Kronaby. It’s actually ridiculous that I’ve never bumped into them. Their watches look amazing! And they’re hybrid smart, many models have a sapphire crystal, this is a really fine brand going completely unnoticed by people like me. Is there anything not great about them though? The price tag is reasonable, I think, but if there’s something to look out for, please share

I’m curious about those micro-brands and how to deal with their watches over a long period of time (say, 20 years), if there’s a risk they go out of business or just completely drop the old stock.
