Is there still a radio 1 “essential mix”? I can still hear the intro and outro from 2008-2013, some real bangers came through that program.

Spotify discover weekly has introduced me to some bangers, and their app has some really great features with a pretty deep library.
I know they suck in some ways, but overall I am pretty happy with their service.

5·2 days agoyeah, although I feel like open communication leads to more people realizing, but I get your point.
I feel like the democratization of global communication led to “a new hope” of sorts, and now we’re living through “The Empire Strikes Back”
Just got to make it to the third movie before things get too bleak… Hopefully…

1·2 days agoah, the way you said “encourage” led me to believe you meant that it was not available, and that discussion of which would encourage its development further. The slippery slope debate about its use elsewhere is valid, but I think it is also valid to discuss it as an alternative when discussing viable death penalty executioners, and it is part of my reasoning for why the death penalty is wrong across the board.
If you think this sort of technology won’t be deployed the moment a serious civil uprising occurs, well then I envy you because I would love to live under that belief - but I don’t.

7·2 days agoyeah but the realization for large portions of the population is what is new, although I agree that it has always been just marketing!

1·2 days agoI don’t know, we’re already well down that path already - in this context I think its actually one place where it makes sense if you agree with the death penalty I personally do not.

7·2 days agoTo me this one seems fairly obvious.
DJ and fElon create mass chaos in government agencies.
Bad actors / enemy nations decide to cut their losses with agents they believe may be compromised, or near end of useful career, or people defect.
This is why you don’t create chaos for no good reason folks, especially in government.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Possibility of translating the messages of dogs, cats, and other petsEnglish
7·3 days agoPeople saying dogs don’t communicate as much with sound… Are you a 1 or multiple dog household? Because while dogs communicate lightly with me through sound, my two huskies talk to each other a LOT, and if you watch the behavior and actions surrounding each vocal communication you can tell that something is being transferred, even if it is a really simple message.
Would be curious to know more specifically what they are telling each other.

I don’t see anything that indicates danger according to the american cancer society, according to them it is entirely cost benefit although they do admit it has not been thoroughly studied in populations 45+.
Having multiple sex partners, or recently divorced is an indication for getting it though - so if you’re a big 'ol slut (<3) you should consider it at any age, if you can get it paid for.
