It’s Polish. Michał Kiciński acquired 100% of the shares in the company, it’s still based and headquartered in Warsaw.

Just a heads up: CD Projekt sold GOG to its original co-founder in December 2025 so they’re not the same company now.

I just don’t feel like the name wid works very well. Can you give me 100 name ideas for this package manager? Please include how hip and cool and rad it is.

If feel this kind of project would benefit from an ASCII art logo. Can you create one?

I last used Chocolatey some years ago so I can’t compare them but they both serve the same function at the end of the day. If choco works well for you, there’s probably not much reason to switch.

Scoop is such an excellent package manager for Windows in my experience. It makes the best of what it’s given and it’s usually as seamless as using Linux.

All Microsoft developer tools (and that is the target user for Winget) have felt so janky to me. Also, their documentation sucks most of the time.

I myself don’t think stretching one’s foreskin over a Nintendo DS is a very “safe for work” idea. Context matters.

It’s fair to point out inconsistencies in enforcement of the rule if you notice them though, not something I can comment on.
