API is almost done! Been using an internal build of the app that uses Artemis’ kbin instance with those changes. And oh god is so much better 👌
So we’re nearing a point where apps for kbin will start popping up ✨
I feel the exact way but in reverse lmao. Who be using websites these days 🤣
Microblogging is the first thing that comes to mind. And subscribing or blocking entire domains.
Working hard on it! Can’t wait for API to go live to make it widely available.
I wrote an API adapter layer to be able to support both kbin and lemmy in the app. Want to open source that as a package, so hopefully more apps can easily add support for both 🤞
already got my own test instance with the changes running. THIS IS SUCH A KILLER KBIN FEATURE! You the boss!
A huge part of the fediverse is the autonomy to choose. So I think Artemis will keep adding all these optional features users can turn on and adjust to their liking. I don’t think having these choices is detrimental to anybody who doesn’t want to use them.
I recognize your username :). And yeah! Something like that.
Great points! Maybe not so much merging into a single thread then. Maybe a tab view that lets you swipe between other posts of the link. Could have the header show the community info and rules. Could help users find new communities. Just spitballimg tho, lots to think about here 😜
Might have to play with this idea in the Artemis app 👀
Official API is almost getting there. I’m alredy updating the app to start using it with my test instance that has it deployed. Just to get ahead of it.
Going to see if I can spin out a community dampener based on the filter feature Artemis has already. Cause I’m so finding myself a bit tired of meme dominating so much heh.
We can just start taking turns heh 😂
Thanks for posting link. I just sent over some more beers for the team to keep stockpiling!🍻
Not much love for Kbin! </3
But I get it, without an official API, it’s a lot of work to get one going. I just refuse to use Lemmy, so I’m committed on getting a Kbin app ASAP. We’re just about to have alpha.1
build ready and it’s pretty darn usable.

EDIT: me not going w Lemmy was due to devs. I still think it’s a viable platform for the fediverse, especially with all the instances out there besides theirs (and being open source). Kbin being completely separated just felt like the right choice for me when picking between the two.
For sure lmk the elements that aren’t iOS enough! So far I have redoing the dialogs in my list. Already try to use as many native components underneath.
