1 year agoCoincidentally I tried a 180 BPM playlist yesterday and it didn’t go so great. It was a general purpose run, and I only kept up with the beat for a few minutes before deciding it was feeling way harder than usual. My average cadence ended up at 173, so not that far off, but I’ll probably stick to running by feel and heart rate for now.
On some shoes I’ve gotten around 1000 miles, while others have started to get early wear at a tenth that much. Agreed with others who say that if you feel something, try switching to a new pair. Even if you don’t, the cushioning breaks down gradually, so after several hundred miles it doesn’t hurt to get new shoes for comparison. If they feel like walking on clouds compared to the current ones, you’ll know what to do.
