White was connected to the switch?! Typically white is just passing thru the box. Switch typically connects to two blacks and one red; line, load and traveler. I don’t even see a taped wire indicator for alt hot. I’d suggest an electrician since you’re here asking. There are allowed wiring scenarios that are not as typical. Electricians know stuff.

You can get used audio Chromecasts. They were cool. Leave it to Google to drop a nice product because they can’t get rich off of it, even though it was part of their ecosystem. Anyway, I have them throughout the house. Easy to sync and control. Other companies outside of Google provide cast features.
