I mean, there are jobs where the first posters advice is relevant. I’m a musician, and there are just rehearsals I cannot miss. When I am working with a high school, I cant take PTO during key production days or performances because I am the only person at the place that can do exactly what I do: that’s why they hired me.

Learn to read usernames, for starters. This is my first comment in this thread. Secondly, you called the person “so fucking sensitive” when they were actually just engaging with you. It’s up to you to then make your point, and instead you called him sensitive as a dig. That’s name calling. Also, I am genuinely not upset, but you sure sound worked up. It sounds like you want to start a fight and not a discussion.

Been ages since I was in a math class and I misquoted why it’s useful. It’s not that it is rational, as 10/3 is also rational. However, 10/3 is not an integer, and therefore cannot be found on a measuring stick or tape measure. There are projects where being able to divide into exact thirds, 6ths, etc are required, and metric is not as useful for that. In a country that also uses imperial interchangeably, it makes sense to use it with projects that are better served with imperial.

180,000 miles is the lifetime of a lot of cars, so that’s pretty good. You’d be hard pressed to find many examples of vehicles that have had no problems through 180,000 miles unless it’s a Honda or Toyota.

It’s wonderful that this one single example is easier to handle in metric than imperial. It doesn’t negate my point which is that any human with a functioning brain can use either one depending on the circumstance, and the idea that you need to pick one or the other is a smooth brained take.
