Oh they were. Because they are us.
Oh they were. Because they are us.
Why does it have to be “profitable”??
So it can steal your credentials and hack your accounts! Duh!
I can only get so federect!
This is why we can’t have nice things!
Oh there’s always side effects. But for me, they were absolutely worth the difference in how my brain worked. I became functional again. Also, the psychiatrist will tell you all about the side effects. Let them know what you’re afraid of. They won’t lie to you. They will help find the right chemical for your issues. Might not find the perfect one right away either. But it’s worth trying, in my opinion.
Good luck! Whatever you do, know that you’re not alone and that these professionals’ jobs are to make you feel like you can make it through the day, at the very least! So make sure they do their jobs. Don’t ever feel like you’re wasting their time or anything, which is what I struggled with. They’re there to help you.
I’m also glad you girlfriend is a psychologist. My wife has helped me through so much stuff, and she isn’t a psychologist, she’s a baker. But without her, I wouldn’t be here. And I certainly wouldn’t have sought help if she hadn’t helped me realize that what I was experiencing could be alleviated with help from professionals.
To add to this, the therapist is going to help as well, so keep going to your therapist, especially if you are starting a prescription.
It can be a rollercoaster for the first few months when you start any psychiatric medication, until your body adjusts.
But stick with both your psychiatrist and psychologist and always let them know immediately if/when you feel strange or “off”. It will help tremendously.
I wish you luck!
This is cool! But I don’t want to fill out a google form.
What a time to be alive!
Yeah, I’m really only ever going back to Reddit for comic book movie news and /r/motorsportsreplays because there isn’t a good sub on Lemmy for that yet.
Same! Lemmy definitely feels like early Reddit. Before the mods were gods and before shills and spam and porn were the norm.
Yep. Lemmy is the future of Reddit.
Is it like a grant then?
I’m not all that concerned with ACTUAL privacy/encryption but rather more concerned with lower-level things like stalking, harassment, employers doing research about their employees’ non-work habits, insurance companies, etc.
I’m not talking about doing anything illegal and hiding from authorities who can use forensics on your data. Just general anti-corporate snooping and anti-harassment privacy protection.
Like, I feel more inclined to sign up and use something more like Raddle.me instead of lemmy because the owner of that site has a philosophical mission in favor of privacy.
That’s excellent. What do you do for a living, by the way? Because Lemmy can’t be your day job, obviously!
So Reddit has decided to fight back, eh?
