Yeah of course that’s not how French society will look at the murder. But that’s not because of how much the French value life (lol, how long did it take to recognize Palestine?) or because of how noble they are, it’s because French society is racist as hell and values fascists 1000x more than the Black and Brown people the racists kill routinely. I’m sure there’s a million little Charlie Hebdos looking to one up each other in how they can blame Muslims for this as I write this comment.
And for the record, a world without fascists is a better world. What else are people gonna do with the fascists, take them to Sunday school and teach them better values?

Awesome!
Thank you, that’s one. You said there’s hundreds.

If an individual hates Zionists, driving them all into echo chambers where they are exposed to fewer and fewer dissenting opinions is only going to radicalize them further. It isn’t going to get rid of them.
Being a Zionist, or any kind of ethno-supremacist for that matter, should be a lonely and alienating experience. Believing in the supremacy of any race and upholding apartheid systems should result in being ostracized and treated as a pariah. If someone doesn’t want to be ostracized, they shouldn’t hold beliefs that deny the humanity of other people; that’s the paradox of tolerance, if you tolerate such intolerance then tolerance itself is jeopardized.
This is something that goes beyond a simple disagreement of tactics, or even a disagreement of ideals. If you can’t draw the line at making a genocidal and exclusionary ideology unacceptable where do you draw the line? Do you draw a line at all?
And on the flip side I don’t want our political communities to become a complete circlejerk where users pat each other on the back for having the “correct” opinion and passing around imaginary internet points.
You’ll still be federated with other instances that have people who don’t agree with the official party line of dbzer0.

Communist Party of China

but at what cost?

Laws are enforced by making some legal entity either comply to them, or be punished (via fines for example).
There’s a limited extent to which laws can still be enforced on a service that’s hosted outside of the countries with those laws, but the point of open source and decentralized alternatives to Discord is that they’re harder for governments to force into enforcing these kinds of laws.
I’m saying that the meme is correct insofar as Western oligarchs can commit crimes and participate in extremely large criminal conspiracies, as proven by the Epstein files. No such scandal has been proven of China.
I would conjecture that the political system of the PRC is more resilient to the kind of corruption and abuses that need to exist for decades for a conspiracy of that scale to develop. I don’t really have hard proof of that but it’s at least inarguable that comparing the West to China, China is 1 - 0 in terms of not being exposed for having a giant ring of pedophiles that control everything.
Is your assumption that an equivalent conspiracy exists, despite no evidence? And to the extent that there are abusers and evildoers in the CPC: why aren’t they in the Epstein files? There’s people from almost every other country on the planet on there, why no one from the second largest country on Earth and the main trade partner of the US, where most of the people involved are based?
And yet where are the high ranking members of the CPC in the Epstein files?
But Xi’s support for mixing private and public ownership structures was purely pragmatic. It had value, he said in another forum, because it would “improve the socialist market economic structure.” Xi’s assessment is echoed by Michael Collins, one of the CIA’s most senior officials for Asia. “The fundamental end of the Communist party of China under Xi Jinping is all the more to control that society politically and economically,” Collins argued earlier this year. “The economy is being viewed, affected and controlled to achieve a political end.”
…
The party’s overarching aim, though, has remained consistent: to ensure that the private sector, and individual entrepreneurs, do not become rival players in the political system. The party wants economic growth, but not at the expense of tolerating any organised alternative centres of power.

“[Capitalists] act as if they are being chased by a bear,” wrote Zhang Lin, a Beijing political commentator, in response to these comments. “They are powerless to control the bear, so they are competing to outrun each other to escape the animal.”

China’s known for handing out the death penalty to high profile white collar criminals. This article is from 2013 but AFAIK it’s continued to happen since then, maybe Western media has caught on that people actually love this stuff so they haven’t reported on it as much more recently.

They are objectively correct that Radio Free Asia has propagated false narratives about North Korea. That’s a big part of what the organization exists to do.

Yes, because if we discount every first-hand account because of some people who don’t say the exact same thing- then we wouldn’t have almost any evidence that what went down in concentration camps during WWII actually happened.
That’s completely different. The Nazis kept records that corroborate the first-hand accounts. There’s photographic evidence of how the camps were laid out, the conditions their prisoners were kept in, bodies, experiments, and more. Honestly I find this line to be bordering on Holocaust denial because it’s so absurd: you think the Holocaust could have been carried out in such a way that only first-hand accounts provide evidence of it?
Also I’m not talking about getting slight details wrong, I’m talking about different defectors telling stories that directly contradict each other, or things that are simply impossible. Have you ever seen an interview with Yeonmi Park?

South Korean media reports of North Korean defectors are notoriously not trustworthy. North Korean defectors suffer from a lot of stigma if they go to the South and usually struggle to find a job. Tabloids pay them for their stories. Obviously, the taller the tale, the more likely they get a paycheck.
The fact that NK is so closed off means it’s hard to disprove a lot of the claims, but we can still know that they’re false when they’re contradictory. For example, some NK defectors have claimed having KJU’s haircut is illegal, others claim it’s the only haircut men are allowed to wear. Some claim that abortion is totally banned, others claim that the state forces women to get abortions.
Probably the epitome of this phenomenon is Yeonmi Park. Are you really gonna die on the hill that NK defectors like her are trustworthy sources?
Can you elaborate on why you think that?

One day this account will be 2 years old and its posts will be recognized for their greatness. But until then, it’ll just be a sockpuppet troll account. Very sad.
