egg_irl — Memes about being trans people in denial and other eggy topics@lemmy.blahaj.zone•What characters do you think would be trans if their authors were more liberal?
31·14 天前Now that you mention it. It reminds me of Ranma 1/2. Ranma is shown to be extremly happy being a woman multiple times during the story. while they dont show much joy being a guy they also dont show dislike towards it either.
Ranma could easily just been gender fluid but the author themselves has been on record saying they think a guy turning into a woman is gross and wrote ranma enjoying it in some scenes as comedy.
its a character who idenity its literally being rained in by the author’s irl beliefs

2·22 天前your the first person ive seen in the wild that understands that jax actually reaches out to people multiple times throught the series and that she only stops when ragatha and pomni both treat her like shes some innatly evil villian in episode six.
thats literally the first time we see her start to abstract when she realizes that she will basically never be able to fully communicate with them ( i think jax is some level of autistic).
it sucks even more since after this jax is shown to become mostly chill and stop bullying anyone will zooble specifically constantly antagonizing her for like no reason.

Transfem@lemmy.blahaj.zone•I think the way we are told to take hrt is nonsense.English
2·1 個月前sorry for the late response.
I don’t think simulating a cycle is “better” than using consistent dosages. I’m saying that the fact that the assumption seems to be consistent hrt levels is better for trans people than mimicking a natural cycle without actual tests on the subject feels backwards when this isn’t really how our bodies evolved to function.
it would be like if doctors recommened a dyabetic taking consistent insulin injections to mimic the “avarage” insulin levels of a “normal” person rather than after spikes in suger intack.
I may only have an AP level understanding of biolagy but I know that your hormone system as a whole is a regulatory system fundementally that is supposed to rise and fall in response to your bodies conditions not in spite it.
While i highly doubt perfect replication of the female cycle is ideal for trans-women (until maybe artifical womb transplants become a thing) i also think the assuption that consistent levels is dumb.
Also side note I had no intention of copying menapose even in cis women that is literally a sign of your body breaking down after you live longer than your expected to.

the thing is that in context most of the men also leave combat roles for the most the most part. It is shown through out the story multipule times that living for violence and fighting is terrible and for the few characters who remain in combat roles it is shown in the sequal that them still being fighters astranges them from their loved ones.
