  • So true. I first started actually using Google calendar when my uni timetable was added, and got into the habit of looking at it too much because of anxiety. I definitely do the same thing with emails because I never get email notifications unfortunately.

One of my favourite tools now though. You can set up a schedule for people to book meetings with you or generate links corresponding to social meets, helping people to remember them and plan their day around the meeting. It’s actually pretty good because I can suggest multiple things I might want to do that day and have them overlap, then finally choose one.

  • I think you overestimate the ability of biological women to hold their own against biological men once the men are >14 years old. Women deal less forceful blows and they usually have shorter stature which reduces leverage, this reducing force of attack and wrestling ability. They have less grip strength usually, and will struggle to reach the man.

In other words: it doesn’t really happen? Also why exactly would violence be based, anyway? If this is some sort of reaction to men attacking women, then pretending there are “based women who beat on men” doesn’t really solve that issue, nor does it necessarily solve any problems if it actually happens.

If we are talking about literal boys and girls, I’m never going to celebrate kids beating each other up. That’s just weird.

  • I’ve never met a “femcel” - as in a woman with poor social skills who stays inside and games a lot, perhaps lacking optimism about their romantic prospects and overall destiny - in my life so the whole concept did strike me as weird. Seeing the “femcel” subreddits, twitter pages and Instagram pages, all it reminded me of were the toxic girls from my hometown who essentially scared off new prospects by being so rude to them and CLEARLY chose their lifestyle very early on.

I therefore think femcel is a misnomer. I think generally women aren’t getting hung up on men in an incel-ly way - the ones that do skip straight to stalker serial killer lady - I think women are good at socialising and always have some sort of support system.

  • Why would cities care about national or international companies? I’m confused.

[This is OP on a different account + device] Good question, I didn’t make it clear. So what I was thinking is, where I live,

    1. The city council has large control over the economy, choosing where businesses can put up their store and monitoring which businesses take up office space in the city.

    2. There’s definitely some MLM presence (my local subreddit provided examples and often has people saying “don’t work for this scam!”)

    3. So… Does the city council just not care? Or are they perhaps less interventionist than I thought?

    4. Lastly, with just how many there are, from the vibe I’m getting from people online complaining about them, surely some of them end up doing business for the city council. So the council ends up getting ripped off or having jobs done to a poor standard.

    Thanks for your comment!

  • Ironically I’m probably not going to choose my favourite games because those are usually just very simple story based games, and can be just as enjoyable to read as a book instead.

The games which instead give the most fun-value and replayability:

    1. Balatro (my go-to “I’m bored and don’t know what to do with myself” game.)
    2. Stardew Valley. Super good, something is so satisfying in the art, animations and little gameplay loops. I replayed it to death earlier this year and now I’ll try not to think about it again until that time next year.
    3. The Sims Medieval” is one I keep on coming back to, so I’ll definitely add that.
    4. Shattered Pixel Dungeon (don’t think this counts as a mod.) Super good replayability, I’ve been playing it intermittently for about 11 years now.
    5. Anno 117. Gotta have some strategy games - I’m kind of boring in that I only do anno and not more complicated stuff like city skylines.
    6. Fields of Mistria is a new farming sim that I have high hopes for.
    7. Pentiment has a lot of replayability despite only being a linear story game.

That gives me enough time to add 8. Minecraft, which I don’t play anymore but it’s a great boredom buster, and 9. Life and Suffering of Sir Brante and 10. Life and Suffering of Prince Jerian - afforementioned visual novel stories which are also fine to enjoy in book form.
