Yeah, isn’t aging straight up caused by degradation during replication, like oxidation or something? I feel like being immortal would necessarily imply we fixed that shit

I’m too lazy to look it up right now but there have definitely been cheaters in Rocket League. The fact that it isn’t a shooter is actually made it easy to cheat in; when there’s no precedent for what cheating even looks like, how do you spot it? I remember a few years ago there was a whole scandal where it turned out someone who was famous for making trickshots had some kind of bot that was able to calculate exactly how to hit the ball midair and send it into the goal.
Not that I’d heard of. I did some searching and found a lot of mentions of an incident in 2016 where their server got hacked and uploaded compromised .isos for Cinnamon, but supposedly that was quickly fixed. And either way was a decade ago
If you ever need to reinstall, I would recommend Mint. The main branch is a fork of Ubuntu, but it feels far more polished in my experience.
Ah but you see, with the exhaust facing forward his ears can catch the airflow and use it like a sailboat
Yeah I was gonna say, this is big even for elephant garlic but it’s fairly widely available. The one time I tried it though, it tasted more onion-y than garlic-y to me, like a shallot or something
“Ah but you see, it’s not misleading at all! You really are purchasing a temporary license to watch the content!”
Considering how much leeway we give food companies to lie about how they label their products, I have absolutely no faith we’ll correct the advertising here either
But if they did put in an eye, even if it didn’t work at first, it’s very possible the part that atrophied would gradually redevelop. I’m pretty sure that exact scenario has already happened IRL for a lot of deaf people
I don’t think the “choosing a server” thing has been a serious roadblock for years, if it ever was. Most people just pick The Big One anyway. If they knew enough to care about distributing users properly among instances, they probably wouldn’t be intimidated by picking
While the letters are adjacent, I don’t think that was a typo. “Finna” is pretty common slang, just a variant of “gonna”

Dang, I guess it has been a few years now but in my mind Owl House is still new. I’m surprised you could have missed it for so long, especially after finding this comic.
It’s whimsical, mostly lighthearted, fast paced and makes heavy use of extremely corny humor. If you’ve been reading these comics, you more or less know how it is lol. I liked it, it definitely makes my list of “recent children’s shows that are still fun as an adult,” somewhere in there with Adventure Time, She-Ra, and Steven Universe. It often gets grouped with Gravity Falls and Amphibia as well, but I haven’t seen those yet. Kinda sorta scratches my old Harry Potter itch since interacting with that stuff became so toxic.
Too bad it couldn’t reach that level of popularity too; it wasn’t unpopular, exactly, but once the main couple finally got together for real instead of the bullshit will-they-won’t-they nonsense, Disney decided to cancel it just as it was hitting its stride. Personally I can’t shake the sense that it was a homophobic decision, idk. It still managed to end fairly gracefully, but there was clearly more to tell, and MoringMark’s comics do a good job filling that hole.
I haven’t had ants, specifically, but I have eaten termites. Can I join anteater club?
I think the problem isn’t echo chambers as a concept, but as a constant. Having a space where you feel welcomed is so important, and the magic of the Internet has always been that if you can’t find that space IRL, you can probably still find it online. But corporations have realized that a feedback loop of things people want to hear is the best way to keep people on and looking at ads, so that’s what they push. It’s gotten to a point where the sites that most people spend the vast majority of their time on will automatically, algorithmically create those echo chambers with no option to turn them off. Many of them will refuse to serve any content at all if you try to log out or view things through a VPN. And it’s that enforcement of echo chambers that is really so dangerous.
You duplicated the first 5 items on the list
Well, lucky isn’t the right word, but I’m glad those two kittens were able to stay. I guess the lesson is to try fostering the kitten first, without the expectation of adoption, just in case the current cat isn’t a fan.
they do not have nearly enough people to demand obedience
Depends on who’s in charge of the bombs and drone swarms. I honestly think the only reason society still exists as we know it is that none of the conservatives are yet fully confident that they have complete, unquestioning control of the arsenal. We’re living in an era where it really only takes a few hundred people, maybe a few thousand, to kill millions. Hundreds of millions. Billions if they start using nukes. What do they care if they take out the people who kept the weapons working? These psychos would only have to use them once and then they’d have power feudal lords and kings could only dream of.
As horrible and inhumane as the US was during wars like Iraq and especially Vietnam, we were still constrained on some level. No matter how indiscriminately our troops were allowed to murder civilians, ultimately, indiscriminate killing wasn’t the main order coming down from very top. When Vietnam finally got so unpopular that even manufactured consent wasn’t cutting it for public support, we pulled out, instead of glassing the country and leaving as few survivors as possible. Again, not that Vietnam was in any way a moral war; I don’t want to minimize how many firebombs we dropped on innocent people, but there was some limit. Hell, even Russia has so far limited itself in how far it’ll go in trying to conquer Ukraine.
But… I’m not sure that’ll be the case for much longer if these fascists are allowed to continue to control the levers of power.
Honestly, even turning the thought into a sentence, putting letters to the words, is more work than his brain did to get there
Luckily they’re all backed by billionaire investors so they can afford to see the frivolous suits through. The self-censorship is something they do by design, not a response to any actual threat.
Would you mind linking your old account or some old comments? I’d love to have something substantive to show off to people who don’t believe how fascist Reddit is these days
