Tesla was very well known as practically a relatively well-paying burnout factory a decade ago, and I doubt it was a big secret when musk first started cultivating the image of the real-life iron man. Anyone who looked up to him but now accept this to be a bad thing are either lying or admitting an absurd degree of ignorance when it comes to their heroes.
