I usually try not to be negative but this just doesn’t “feel” like Lord of the Rings. Also showing clips of the LOTR films in the beginning is just weird. The animation looks solid even if I don’t think the overly Anime character design works for Tolkien’s world.
As a fan of Tolkien it is also kind of funny to me that the focus is on the daughter of one of the coolest characters in the books. A daughter that isn’t even named.
I don’t have a problem with centering the story on a character who they can flesh out however they want, but the vibe of this, what with the strange inclusion of Mumakil and a Watcher in the Water, puts the vibe more in line with the Shadow of Mordor games. The line at the end of the trailer actually has me wondering if they’re treating an aspect of Shadow of War as canon.

the peter jackson LOTR movies already dont feel like LOTR. every single entry in this “series” has felt less and less like LOTR.
