Hello everyone,
I’ve seen your community created yesterday, welcome to Lemmy!
As I’ve seen a few people asking about mobile apps, here is a list with filters: https://www.lemmyapps.com/
At some point, apps might as your for your “instance”. You can fill that field with “lemmy.ca”, then use your username and password to login. This should work, if not, feel free to comment below.
If you don’t like the default lemmy.ca interface, there is also
- https://photon.lemmy.ca/
- https://old.lemmy.ca/ (similar to old reddit)
All of those interfaces allow you to access the same content as the default interface, it’s all about preference!
There are a few guides available at !newtolemmy@lemmy.ca
If you have any question, feel free!
Hello!
That rainbow thing is the Fediverse logo. The fediverse is the network of connected servers, in your case for instance Lemmy.ca is your server.
I see this thread from my server, Reddthat:
If I click on the logo on your comment it gives the comment from your server: https://lemmy.ca/comment/9696531
Both are connected, and allow people to setup their own server compared to Reddit that is a single website.
Ahh okay! So when you see the logo does that mean that people from different instances are contributing but it’s all connected?
Actually you see the logo for everyone, even if they are on your instance, it’s just there by default. You can identify users from another instance (like me, I’m using Reddthat.com) by the “@Reddthat.com” at the end of my name. It works a bit like email addresses.
It is indeed all connected!
Ahh okay cool, thank you. Lots to learn here and I’m loving it 😁
You are welcome 😄
