Absolutely hilarious circlejerk on unseen levels
From a purely military point of view: the US can’t beat farmers in a sustained war, the US vs the rest of the world would be over in under a week and most of that time would just be spent on logistics.
Now double that with the economic mess if the US were cut off from the world economy? They wouldn’t be able to field half their military assets without Chinese resources. Not to mention the absolute gutter morale you would have to know the entire planet has allied against you.
how badly would Laos want to destroy America?
Quite a bit I’d imagine
Considering how splintered the US is in ideology and how much paranoia it has toward “foreigners” (which in reality aren’t necessarily foreign and are almost always people who don’t pass as white) a war with the entire world would likely turn into the US doubling down on that paranoia and on white supremacy and start hurting its own citizens en masse before a single other country has set foot there. Add to that the severe drop in functionality and amenities from being cut off from the world economy and everything they outsourced. The rest of the world would show up one day to see what’s going on and the US would be Mad Max. Profoundly disturbing country to live in.
It would be like Mad Max combined with Nazi Germany’s worst atrocities, or perhaps better compared to the worst horrors of the Ustase. But if you ask me, just that fact alone- that the US and other Anglo settler-colonial societies would certainly spiral to such depravity when given an excuse, and that the minorities and in particular the rightful indigenous peoples of the land live constantly with their lives hostage (and with “quiet” genocides continually being maintained to this day) is reason enough for why the rest of the world will likely have to take a role in decolonizing the Anglosphere, one way or another (presently, while it’s not indigenism which would be better, I’d argue the foundations for such a process are being built, somewhat, with the demographic decline of white Anglos in these countries).
what I have learned from skimming that thread is that the average redditor thinks we would only lose such a war because “the rest of the world has more bodies to throw at us.” Literally just the “Russians haven’t lost yet because they use human wave tactics” excuse but applied to the entire world lol.
Who would win? A nation in the brink of starvation as a result of being cut off from the rest of the world or the rest of the world?
US would basically be Korea
Are you saying the US would be on the brink of starvation?
The US is probably one of the biggest agricultural powerhouses in the world. It has a huge amount of farmable soil. It exports tons of agriculture and is a major supplier to many countries including China.
Week six sure Americans might not have bananas and imported tropical fruits on or off-season from South America but they’d still have tons of corn, grain, domestic fruits (apples), domestic nuts, soy, just all kinds of things. I admit in the long-run it’s possible there could be issues with sourcing fertilize but even that I doubt. The US has huge natural gas reserves which can be used to make fertilizer among other things. The sad fact is the US is probably one of if not the best positioned country in the world to survive in near total isolation at some level due to food self-sufficiency and sufficient resources of energy. Add to that all the pasture for animals for slaughter and milk, still unexploited areas which could be converted, two big coasts with access to oceans for fishing. Off the top of my head I think cooking oils might be one of the few immediate problems but that could likely be fixed in an emergency by removing corn from ethanol and starting to convert more of it to corn oil, not to mention existing peanut oil, canola (which as I understand is pretty hardy and easy to grow in tons of places), soy, etc.
I think there would be riots about no new iPhones before you’d see any over food unless it wasn’t being allocated properly at all. Admittedly the prices wouldn’t be nice for the proletariat in the US and there would be some shocks there but there wouldn’t be a need to smuggle in food.
Is capitalism was still a thing in the US for this scenario? How many agri businesses would need to burn huge amounts of produce to keep their profits up without the guarantee of foreign export markets being open to them? With the remaining produce having massively inflated prices for the domestic market, there’d probably be a pretty steep decline in public health.
Potentially less production due to a huge need to have the entire working age population conscripted into the military as combat arms occupations and sent abroad.
If everyone just decided to be at war one day all of the random military bases would kill a bunch of civilians but be crushed fast. Then everyone could just invade the great satan and crush it pretty fast. There might be bioweapons and everyone dies, but the hardware stands no chance.
the random military bases would kill a bunch of civilians
So no different than right now.
That’s actually really scary.
The same US that is being vastly outproduced by Russia alone in certain critical areas like artillery shells, and is now behind China in the production of warships and 5th generation aircraft?
I think a key cope for these people is still that the US and allies’ production hasn’t really fully been unleashed. They were also claiming Biden was going to expand our MIC realistically, I guess because these people operate on contrarian headline takes circulating the posting arenas. When you throw a bunch of money into these expensive DOD projects it doesn’t really do anything other than multiply the cost of a project further. We never magically developed the capacity to bring chipmaking to the US which was something else Biden people trumpeted quite a bit years ago
Just have to boycott the US dollar, and watch it crumble.
Depends on who was invading, though I feel like the US government would probably capitulate pretty early from being cut off. Random farmers and ex-military in the mountains? Idk
US invading the rest of the world we’ve already seen, sort of
Russia alone would obliterate the USA just by launching the nukes.
Their hypothetical did technically take nukes out of the equation. It is ultimately a dumb hypothetical anyway though. A conventional war wouldn’t even be necessary if the rest of the world wanted to unite against US.
Answer it would basically be Korea but worse.
At least the DPRK has supporters. In this scenario, the USA is on their own.
To America, that is- the rest of the world would be certainly scarred too, but the Yanks would be going down. And even if things got as bad as what was done to North Korea by the Americans- frankly I can’t claim I’d be overly saddened, so long as the indigenous, minority, and leftist, anti-imperialist communities were left largely alone.

The US military would crumble to dust if that ever happened
America would kill us all with embargo’s 😭
