I posted about this in the news mega, but figured I’d post separately too as it seems potentially happening.gif
With the caveat from the article:
H5N1 is a strain of influenza A. It’s impossible to know at this time if this is what is driving this increase, but vigilance is warranted. Hopefully this is simply all a coincidence or just a statistical anomaly. I watch for early signals to monitor.
But an apparent surge of flu in April in a cattle production region is…deeply concerning, given the bird flu situation right now.
Luckily, we’re all still masking and taking the proper precautions for the current pandemic already.
Please not again
Unfortunately, north america is completely checked out on basic prevention these days. They did like 6 months of pseudo isolation and the need for brunch and a night out with the bros/ ladies night, was too strong.
It’s a good thing we didn’t all get infected with a disease that seemingly makes us more vulnerable to future infections… And I’m sure everyone regularly goes for updated flu shots.
Americans stop spreading disease for one second challenge
Seems like a pretty quality site. Thanks for sharing it.
Just a heads up, OP: You posted about this in the general mega, not the newsmega.
Thanks comrade….it had been a long day
