    College students do - they have other priorities than to be taking care of their own homes.

    I am no fan of capitalism, but the least we can do is to be accurate in portraying its faults - and to say that “no one needs” is too extreme imho.

      Where I studied we got the best of both worlds: paid rent and needed to take care of (not) our apartments

      But I agree, it’s nice to be able to get at least something back for the small price of paying a whole lot as a rent

      Many college students live in coops (cooperative housing) though. They really don’t need landlord when there can be councils of student run housing. Landlord are NEVER needed.
