yeah, it hasn’t really been my decade. or century. or millenium.
They sure spent a lot of time hanging around their apartments. Weird because in reality, each of them would have to work 8 full-time jobs to afford the rent in those New York buildings.
I think Monica’s apartment was owned by her grandma, but yeah realistically for everyone else.

I’ve always thought this line doesn’t make sense. It should be “it hasn’t been your year, your month, your week, or even your day”

It’s the wrong way round.
If someone said “I’ve had a bad day, but it’s really been my year” you wouldn’t say “oh poor you”.
If they said “I’ve had a rough year, but at least it’s been my day” you’d say “thank Cthulhu for small mercies I guess”.
I agree. The order is wrong, but it sounds slightly better when sung, I guess.
